The reception was very friendly, the breakfast was generous, there was a small pool, and the hotel is right on the beach. The restaurant offered a good dinner. One small note: there are three adorable hotel dogs. They’re very friendly, but people who don’t like dogs might not appreciate them. In the lower rooms, there could be a few cockroaches.

This is a small family-run place, quirky, and sits on a great beachfront with free sun loungers, a few kilometres from Bentota town. Breakfast was good, with plenty of Sri Lankan and western options served in a restaurant right over the beach. Our first‑floor room had a balcony with direct sea views. There’s a small but pleasant pool, and two extremely friendly golden retrievers! The beach is great, but you can’t walk into town from there. A few restaurants are within a reasonable walk, or a short tuk‑tuk ride to Bentota gives you more choices. July falls in the “monsoon” season, and while there was plenty of sunshine, the ocean was too rough to swim.
