A flawless hotel experience driven largely by attentive service; even our specific request for a room with minimal Wi‑Fi interference was courteously fulfilled. The rooms are pleasantly sized with very comfortable beds, and the dining never disappoints—both dinner and breakfast impress with high‑quality local ingredients. We even grabbed a few treats from the hotel shop and will definitely return!

The latte macchiato at breakfast was delicious, and I appreciated a phone charger being lent to me, complete with the correct plug. A small note: the hotel sits on the right side of the Canton Aargau border, while the restaurant is on the left side in Canton Solothurn; the owner pointed this out at breakfast. Plenty of parking is available. Breakfast was a bit sparse; a bit more fruit would have been nice. The mattress was slightly sagging, and the bathroom was functional but the street was heavily trafficked—cars don’t always slow down. The restaurant is good and the shop is lovely.

Everything is very good.

The restaurant and beer garden were exceptionally good, and parking was hassle‑free. My room and bathroom were very clean, and the shared areas and outdoor spaces were nicely maintained. The staff were very courteous, helpful, and friendly. However, there were no fly screens or air conditioning or fans in the rooms, and we stayed there in July when it was very hot. The shower door was just a plain glass door separating the bed, and the wash area was right next to the bed, so a bit more privacy would have been nice even though I was with my daughter. There was no fridge. We left a day early because it was just too warm.
