Located near the River Elbe, Hotel Senator Marina in Wedel features maritime-style rooms with minibars, TVs, and private bathrooms. The location is great, only about 200 m from the dike, and you can decide where to go or which direction to head. We were pleased with the hotel’s location. It’s only about a 25‑minute walk along the dike to the harbor, the shopping street, and various stores. There were no negatives.

The breakfast was excellent, offering a huge selection of sausages, cheeses, rolls, and jams. The beds were very comfortable with electrically adjustable slats, and the staff were very friendly. However, the rooms feel very dated; they could use a fresh coat of paint, new furniture, and a new bathroom. The chairs in the room are unsuitable for larger or heavier guests; I couldn't sit in any of them because they were too narrow. The toilet height is only 30-35 cm, which is very low for someone like me at 187 cm. The tap water is a disaster: it is either ice‑cold or boiling hot, with no middle temperature—switching it jumps straight from cold to boiling or vice versa, making showering a real pain.

Die Unterkunft war ideal gelegen und sauber, das Frühstück war gut. Morgens hat es sehr stark nach Essen gerochen, das Bad müsste modernisiert werden, Parkplätze waren nur bedingt vorhanden
