The spot is unbeatable, just a few minutes’ walk from the Pantheon, and you can see most of Rome on foot, so taxis or public transport are rarely needed. The staff were very polite and helpful, even letting us check in a little early, which we really appreciated.
However, there is plenty of room for improvement, especially in our room, and most of it wouldn’t take much effort. First, maintenance: the entire room has laminate flooring, even near wet areas, and it’s badly swollen and damaged, which is very off‑putting. Lighting was poor; there weren’t enough ceiling lights, and the bedside lamps lacked shades, so turning them on was almost impossible because the bare bulbs were blinding. The worst part, though, was cleanliness. Our room was genuinely dirty, to the point where it felt like it had been skipped entirely. The toilet, basins and blankets were all stained. We’re fairly easygoing, so we didn’t ask for it to be cleaned, and we actually requested housekeeping not to service the room during our stay, as it didn’t seem like it would be done properly anyway. With some basic maintenance and proper checks on cleaning standards, this hotel could be a great option for anyone, but not until then.
