“Endlich eine Unterkunft zum Wohlfühlen”
The fenced grounds were a major plus, giving us much-needed quiet away from the noisy streets of Sri Lanka. The facilities were very good: a comfortable bed, table and chair, hand soap, and a very good shower. The bathroom was unusually spacious, a welcome change from the usual cramped shower stalls. The property is well maintained and pleasant to look at, with a foot shower in the garden. You can have breakfast inside or outside; the breakfast was very good and varied day to day. We liked that we didn’t get a nutritionally empty western/continental breakfast but a Sri Lankan one. The hosts were very friendly. The location is a pleasant walk to the beach and good restaurants (tips: Sea Gem and Mio Curry Pot). After three weeks of touring Sri Lanka in the same comfort class and having to make bigger compromises at various points, this was the first place where almost everything matched and we felt comfortable. The only negative was that the fan only had a maximum or off setting due to a likely faulty regulator, which wasn’t a big deal for us. The air‑conditioner would shoot a strong stream of air in the intended lying direction, but you can also lie in the opposite direction. We were lucky there were no other guests; otherwise, the shared space adjacent to the rooms could have become quite uncomfortable and restless.
