The small cottages were expertly, creatively, and sensitively built, offering good privacy, facilities, and a great location. Using high‑quality recycled timber gave them a historical yet cozy and luxurious vibe. The bathrooms were also great, and there was a BBQ and fire pit available. We stayed in both the Chookery and River Cottage. Nothing was lacking—it was a welcome break from long‑distance travel and far more inviting and restful than anywhere else we’d stayed after covering 13,000 km.

The spot is perfect and the cottage is absolutely charming – it’s always our go‑to when we visit Chinchilla. The bathroom door kept catching, probably because it’s swollen, and I worried it might slam into the shower glass if someone pulled it hard. There were no tissues in the room, and only one roll of toilet paper, which could have been a nice extra.

The place is in a great spot, parking is a breeze, and the units have a fascinating history. The staff were wonderful and the room was spotless. Nothing to complain about.

The location is nice and quiet. The hot water was limited and there was no toaster.
