For $174 a single room with a queen‑size cot feels absurdly expensive, but the owner is a genuinely nice guy, which made that part of the visit enjoyable.

The location was the only perk, yet the place was far from clean, the towels were old, and it clearly needs a renovation.

The room was comfortable with solid wifi, a fridge, and a coffee maker, and it was very clean—fine for a one‑night stop. It felt like a typical motel with an old‑fashioned key system, which surprised me because we live in an electronic world. Breakfast isn’t offered, which is a drawback but was known before booking. The hotel sits in the village centre, about 3‑4 km from the main highway where most restaurants and shops are. The door didn’t seal properly, even though it seemed to; it might have been forced once. To me it seemed overpriced, though I stayed on a Saturday evening, which could explain higher rates.

I liked the location, the number of beds, and parking was a breeze. Just remember to shut your windows on a Saturday night because the locals can be a little loud (not the motel’s fault).

We were surprised to find a fridge, freezer, microwave, and coffee pot in the room, and there were plenty of toiletries. The building’s exterior needs a serious renovation, and the outdoor stairs have deteriorated a lot. Friends from Invermere asked if there were cockroaches—this place has a bad reputation. Inside felt very low‑class; the bed was low and uncomfortable, and the bedding was ancient and worn. Only two small pillows were provided, so you couldn’t lie on the bed to watch TV.
