“Os quartos têm 2 pesos e 2 medidas - estava à espera de um quarto melhor”
The shared lounge and kitchen feel a bit dated but are well‑equipped and roomy, and the place sits right in the centre of Idanha with street parking literally at the door. The shower water pressure was solid and the hot water arrived instantly, and the host was friendly and helpful, even letting us do a late check‑out, which I really appreciated. I had booked a twin room that was available at the time, yet was moved to a double so I wouldn’t have to share a bathroom; they never mentioned that the double was a lower‑category ground‑floor/cave room with a damp smell, tiny size, no air‑conditioning, bright morning light that kept me awake, and a bathroom down the hall. The twin I’d booked is spacious, on the second floor, has a balcony, shutters, and a renovated hallway bathroom. Had I stayed in the twin, my experience would have been around 9.0, but the room I got feels more like a 7.0. When the host called four days before my arrival—after receiving another reservation—they should have explained the room differences so I could decide, but they didn’t. I switched to help the host accommodate the later booking and ended up worse off, which doesn’t seem fair. A dehumidifier would be useful in that ground‑floor/cave room. I couldn’t light the stove, so I bought matches and left them for the next guests. The listing also mentions a tennis court, which we needed for a tournament, but there isn’t one.
