“Horrible.”
The place was incredibly messy, as if it had never been cleaned for years, and I doubt they even vacuum the floors. Customer service was terrible, and we had to book another hotel even though we never got a refund.

At the Ararat Hotel you get what you pay for: rooms are sparse except for a comfy bed, and the shared bathrooms are fine because there are plenty of them. However, the old stairs to the first floor should be vacuumed.

Didn't like it at all like a prison cell. Small carpet dirty just like a prison cell booked for 3 nights stayed one had to go somewhere else

The staff were kind, friendly, and ready to chat, which made the stay enjoyable, especially for someone who loves old, antique, and spooky places; the architecture and food were charming, and if you believe in ghosts, the company they keep can be delightful. Visiting Aradale, J Ward, and the cemetery added extra fun, with beautiful headstones and statues, and a little girl who loved school—art, reading, and friendship—reminded me that you can always choose to be kind; she told me to say hi to Kat and that she would walk around the place with you, but you must say goodbye when you leave. The room had only one single port PowerPoint outlet, was very cold in the middle of winter, and felt spooky, so I had to choose between a heater and a lamp, with no way to charge my phone because heat and light were the priority. We ended up driving to a servo on the highway at 1am to buy a torch, which solved the problem and added to the adventure. Bring a Powerboard adapter next time!

It’s old, but there is no bathroom in the room.
