The boat was lovely, spotlessly clean and very well equipped, moored close to the centre of Sandwich. Nothing wrong with the boat, it was me being too old, under 5ft tall and unfit I struggled getting on and off the boat and when aboard there were stairs steps and head height cupboards just waiting for me to crash into. So definitely for younger more agile people

Great experience to stay on a Dutch barge. The gang plank was a little scary at low tide but we managed despite being more senior guests!

It was a wonderful opportunity to stay on an amazing old barge right in the centre of Sandwich; the barge was very comfortable, surprisingly spacious, and a joy to stay on. The owners supplied plenty of information and were very helpful when roadworks made parking difficult. There’s nothing we didn’t like, but people with limited mobility should know that the gangplank can be very steep at times, as can the stairs into the galley, and one side of the bedroom has limited headroom.

The size was perfect, the amenities great, and the location brilliant—an ideal night out for my birthday. The hosts were accommodating, communicated well ahead of time, and arranged alternative parking nearby because of local road closures. The digital boat guide was fantastic, packed with helpful local information. The only downside was that the gangway was very steep at low tide, which made lugging luggage off in the morning a bit of a struggle.
