Lisa is an amazing host with a special story, she loves Israelis a lot and was very happy to welcome us, giving us a true home‑like vibe. She cooks heartfelt Friday meals. The room is a bit small but still totally worth the price and the stay we had, and it’s in a really central spot; every Israeli who comes should check out Lisa.

The place sits right in the middle of the shops and the dive spot we booked for, perfect if you want to see the sardine run. Our room was private with its own bathroom, and towels, shower gel and shampoo were provided. Lisa and her son were friendly and helpful when we needed them, making it a great spot for party‑goers. On the downside, the main road is lined with bars, so we couldn’t sleep well because the noise was loud. The air‑con and doors had many gaps, letting the noise in, and that might be why we saw cockroaches every day. The upstairs cooking area was filthy – pans were dirty, there was old mouldy food and ants everywhere – it really needed a refurbishment with new appliances. When we booked, we didn’t realize this was a hostel intended for Jewish people. We’ve stayed in hostels of all faiths worldwide and appreciate cultural differences, but we were alarmed by how overtly it promoted Israel and Judaism on the walls. The page didn’t show the graffiti walls, only a tiny Hebrew line on the logo that we couldn’t read, so we made a mistake at booking. The shrine‑like decorations made us feel uneasy. One guest even spoke to us in Hebrew and asked why we were staying there if we weren’t Jewish. This hostel is clearly aimed at the Jewish community, and others might feel a bit uncomfortable.

The location was good, but a few things happened: the water line broke for a day, so I had to hunt down staff even though it was advertised as 24/7. I was told about the street noise, which is loud all night. There was no desk or TV, but the price matched that.

It could use some renovation, but it’s comfortable. The place is noisy and central.
