“Special stay in the heart of Udalawawe”

This was one of my favourite stays in our time in Sri Lanka and completely exceeded my expectations. We were blown away by the hospitality of the staff, the comfort, cleanliness and design of our safari lodge and ammenities, and how amazing and convenient the location was so close to the park entrance for our safari. The resort is decorated to such a high standard, with so much care and thought gone into this resort - the animal and tiki decor makes the resort feel so fun and charming, we did not travel with children but this would be amazing for families. The food at the Hungry Monkey was incredible, some of our favourite Kottu in Sri Lanka! We felt so looked after by the the staff who genuinely wanted us to feel comfortable and enjoy our stay. We left for our safari at 5am, so we missed our included breakfast, the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a breakfast package to take with us, having this ready for us the night before. The resort is also a stones throw away from a local Elephant Sanctuary museum and feeding platform, which we managed to visit easily and were able to see the elephant feeding in the evening. I was very sad to leave this resort and have very special memories from our stay. Nothing - I loved everything about our stay. More travellers should book to stay here during the quiet season for safari, it was so peaceful to have the place a bit quieter but this resort deserves more business

“Muy agradable resort cerca del parque Udawalawe”

The resort was pleasant and well‑situated, just a short walk from the elephant transit home and only a few minutes from the Udawalawe park entrance. The rooms were spacious and the staff were very attentive. Nothing to complain about.

“Fantastic location, lovely hotel staff who go above and beyond.”

We had a fantastic stay at Dhalaya Resort; the staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our time. Breakfast was great and we were very close to the National Park. We booked the safari through the resort, our driver was great and very knowledgeable about the animals, and we even spotted a leopard with him, which can sometimes be hard to see. The only downside was that there were no cocktails at the bar, though beer was available.

“Excellent camp de base pour un safari à Udawalawe”

The hotel was very nice, modern, with well‑equipped rooms and welcoming staff. The location is ideal for a safari at Udawalawe, a park we especially recommend for elephants, but there isn’t much else to do or see nearby. The restaurant is also recommended, offering Sri Lankan and international cuisine (including pizzas). Be careful with the pool slides: they’re fun but damage swimsuits because they don’t slide smoothly.
