We appreciated the comfortable bed and the staff’s initiative to replace the hair dryer in our room. On the downside, the spa and bathroom sink had not been cleaned, the shower needed a thorough clean, and there was only one mug and one pillow per bed. No hair dryer was provided. The room was dusty, cutlery lay on a dusty shelf, and the air‑con/heater looked dirty and broken.

The beds were very comfortable, and when we misplaced our door card, the out‑of‑hours staff were quick to unlock the door and provide a new one while we were still in the dark. Booking was easy and the location is good. However, both of us are elderly and ended up with a top‑floor room that required several flights of stairs, which would have been better handled at booking, especially with luggage. The kitchen area lacked lighting, so we had to rely on our phone’s torch for cooking, and there were no tea towels for dishes or biscuits for a cuppa upon arrival—something I’ve never encountered before.

The location was fine, but everything else was disappointing: the furniture was dirty, old, and uncomfortable, falling apart. Kitchen appliances were scarce, and those that existed were either old, broken, or dirty. I will never stay here again.

We chose this property because it was the only one with vacancies near our desired area, and the king‑size bed was fairly comfortable. We disliked the many stairs (27) and the slippery tiles when it rained, which made reaching our room difficult. Over our 3‑night stay, the bed was never made and the bins were not emptied while we were out. No hand towels were supplied, and overall maintenance and cleanliness were lacking; a dreadful smell came from the drain holes in the hand basin and shower. Staff gave poor directions on how to find our room.
