The bath was hot, the rooms were spacious with a tea set and a traditional robe, and the surroundings were quiet. I suggest booking dinner the night before because I had the best meal in Japan at a very reasonable price. The owners pay great attention to every detail, and the room is cleaned daily. A night walk in the nearby fields is also worth it. The location is one train stop from the city, so buying two tickets in advance is wise since Ichinomiya station is unmanned.

The village is beautiful, and the hotel is lovely too. The rooms are great and super spacious. The owner is charming. The only downside is that on the upper floor there is only one bathroom and many rooms share it, but downstairs there are more, so no problem. Also, the train schedules to Takayama and back are limited, so you need to plan your day a bit to catch the transport, nothing else!

The location is quiet and easy to reach by train, the breakfast was really good, the staff were friendly, the room smells like traditional tatami mats, and you can even book a private bath! Really great accommodation.
