“Disappointed but loved the Dandenongs as always”

The location is convenient, but the photos made the place look bigger than it was; the space was cramped with only a table and two chairs, the fry pans were dirty, there was no place to hang clothes, the back deck was slippery, and there was no spatula for breakfast—who would think you’d have to bring that?

“Comfortable short stay with nice amenities.”

The heating worked well and the setup was solid; the port and chocolate added a nice touch, making the cottage very comfortable and clean. The only downside was a faint, hard‑to‑identify odor that wasn’t overpowering, and the fact that firewood was an extra charge—though we wouldn’t have used much anyway, it would’ve been better included in the rate.

“We enjoyed our stay despite the setbacks”

We didn’t get breakfast or biscuits, but the silence was lovely. The bed was too high for the elderly, a curled mat near the front door posed a trip hazard, and the steps out of the front door were not at regulation height.

“Generally a lovely stay in a lovely place.”

The room was quiet, comfortable, and had all the basics; check‑in and check‑out were easy. The owners responded quickly via text before and during our stay and even sent a complimentary bottle of Chardonnay for our anniversary, which was nice. However, we booked the cabin with a fireplace (the pricier option) through the website and confirmed it with the owner by text, yet the confirmation email we received 24 hours before listed a different, cheaper cabin. We had already bought firewood expecting the fireplace, so that mix‑up dampened the weekend a bit.
