The surroundings were nice.
“Extremely disappointing stay, not reflective of the other reviews”
The hostel existed and the Wi‑Fi worked, but I’ve stayed in many budget hostels and this one ranks among the worst; the high ratings here are misleading. No staff were present at all, so there was nothing to help or answer questions. Security was abysmal: only lockers were provided in the dorm, nothing else. Cleanliness was a nightmare—floors, walls, and bathrooms were filthy. The bathroom smelled awful, had no hot water, and was covered in grime; even the mat outside the shower was dirty, and ants swarmed the common areas. Facilities were minimal: a single light and one socket for a six‑bed dorm, a mattress that was extremely hard, AC that barely worked and seemed to flicker on and off, a broken dorm window that let mosquitoes in, a kitchen that was unusable because the water filter was broken and dispensed brown water, and Wi‑Fi that didn’t reach the dorm until my last day. The rooftop, supposedly a shared space, was messy and more like storage. At about £5 a night it sounds cheap, but even for that price it’s not worth it. With proper maintenance and management it could be decent, but right now I strongly advise avoiding it.
Miki is very helpful, takes great care of guests, and is a party‑maker who plays good music.
“Overall perfect stay”
The location and overall experience were outstanding.
“For clubbing and cultural events must visit this place”
I had a great time here; the hostel is relaxed, and Micky the host was super friendly, even taking us to a drum circle and clubbing for free—such a fun experience. I’d definitely recommend staying if you’re in the Auroville area.
