The location and cleanliness were good. There was no fridge in the room, which made it unclear why it was “deluxe”.

The hotel sits in a very beautiful old building, with many original details still present, which I really appreciate. The room is spacious and tidy. Alcaraz is a lovely old town with a nice central square and interesting history. The only issue for me was the many stairs in the building and the lack of an elevator.

The location and the historic building’s value and energy were positives. 1. I called before confirming my reservation to inform them of my arrival time, as I was traveling by bike and had dinner in El Bonillo two hours from Alcaraz; they told me that at my arrival time, around 22h, no one would be there to open the automatic door, so I had to cancel (and the cancellation didn’t refund the payment—a manual scam), which became clear after the call because the reservation had been charged and it showed that I had not arrived [!]. 2. With that firm answer, I had to find another hotel at night; arriving in a previous town, it was impossible because everything was closed and dark, so I ended up going down to Alcaraz, arriving at 5.30, walking around the town until 8h, when I could have breakfast and return to the hotel, ring the bell, and convince the same lady from the afternoon call that since I had paid, I could enter, shower, and sleep until noon. 3. When I came by bike, they should have opened the original upper door where I parked the bike with panniers, because from there you can directly access the courtyard without climbing stairs with the bike, as the lady offered, so I didn’t have to disassemble the panniers; instead, I had to leave the bike chained at the lookout in front of the hotel, where the electric car charger was under the sun, at noon departure. 4. The room I had booked was a single double bed with shower, but I was given one on the third floor, carrying my panniers, and found two beds that were less than 1 m wide and less than 2 m long, a shower with very low pressure, and no view from the windows.

The owner was very nice and the location was perfect, but there was a lot of noise in the rooms and everything could be heard.
