Oh my days…. What a treat!! What an amazing house…. So respectfully brought back to life. The room was so comfortable, towels and bedding fluffy and clean! Wish we could have stayed longer, but what a night! James was amazing - so welcoming and gave some great recommendations for local eateries & bars!!. We didn’t stay long enough!!

We arrived around sunset and stepped into a large Victorian home that felt like a movie set; the silence was almost eerie, which I found fun, though my wife was less thrilled. The interior was dark, with occasional taxidermy, and we had to use an iPhone flashlight to read the room nameplates, but once we opened the door the suite lived up to the hype. After leaving for dinner, we came back to a well-lit, inviting space that let us appreciate the elegant period details throughout the house. The staircases were impressive, and the second‑floor layout was well arranged. The landing’s rotunda housed seven spacious bedrooms, each generous and open. It’s truly magnificent, and the stay became a memorable delight. The comments in the room ledger made me feel connected to others who shared similar positive impressions. We fell in love with it quickly. As for the neighborhood, it doesn’t inspire confidence; it feels cold on arrival and doesn’t give the home the surroundings it deserves. Nearby houses have barred windows, and I would avoid walking the grounds after dark. Still, a small but lively selection of eateries and a few nice bars are just a minute or two drive away, and we had no issues there.
