Breakfast had a wide selection, including cake and fruit, and we liked the sourdough bread. The entrance code made us feel secure. The location was a short walk to the venue on King George Street, which was why we chose it based on earlier reviews. We’d have appreciated a bathmat for the shower, and the decor felt a bit tired and in need of a refresh, but it was acceptable for a one‑night stay.

The place was quiet and the location was peaceful. The morning was good, and it’s relatively close to the Old City.

The location is prime, the building dates from the 1920s and keeps that era’s style. The décor is intentionally simple, and the worn furniture actually adds charm, like stepping into an ancestral home. The staff were very responsive. In the first room I received, an unpleasant odor came from the AC, so they swapped me for a larger room immediately without asking for extra payment. Breakfast was basic but fresh, and the dining room looked straight out of the 60s—pretty cool. The only downside was that the bed felt too firm for me.

The breakfast was decent except for the coffee; we had to leave the house for a coffee shop to drink it! The rooms need extensive renovation—there really aren’t places like this anymore. Even though the bathroom looked recently renovated, the room itself was very old and neglected, though it was clean.

The staff is very helpful and the location is great, but housekeeping isn’t very thorough; they replace towels but don’t actually clean every day.
