The breakfast was delicious, the garden was full of plants and animals, and the service was excellent; the bathroom was practical and functional. We stayed in a room meant for four people, so we felt a bit cramped when moving around or placing items, and the room had a strong odor that only eased when we kept the window open.

The family‑run lodge sits at the end of a cul‑de‑sac on top of a rock; it’s an old building with charming décor, and the deck view from breakfast is beautiful amid plenty of greenery. Everyone was attentive and polite, the mattresses were great, and the breakfast was good. Because the building is old, the rooms lack ventilation, so a strong mold smell lingered—on the first night we couldn’t sleep well, but on the second night we opened the window and ran the fan, which helped a lot. The floor feels perpetually damp, but I noticed that this humidity is a citywide issue.
