The Gasthof Anker in Wachau near Radeberg is truly a hidden gem – from the outside you can’t guess what lies inside. Every detail was arranged with great care, making the interior beautiful. We stayed in room 6 on the first floor, which was charmingly decorated; the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was larger than average, fully equipped. A small seating area with a round table and two gorgeous chairs turned our short break into a highlight. We also dined in the ground‑floor restaurant and were left speechless by the fresh dishes; the portions were more than enough and the price‑performance ratio was spot on. The in‑house room service was exceptionally friendly and fulfilled every request without exception. The whole building and its garden are definitely worth a visit. On our final night we could relax on the outdoor terrace and enjoy a farewell drink; the staff were very kind and really sweetened our vacation. We’ll certainly return. Only thing missing was a mini‑fridge in the room, which would have been perfect for the hot summer temperatures – a small suggestion, otherwise there was nothing to complain about.
