We were delighted with our stay. The lodge is simply wonderful and exceeded all our expectations! The location is privileged. The beach is literally in front. The room view is spectacular. The entire staff provides personalized service. Their care and affection make us feel unique. The restaurant offers sensational cuisine. Breakfast is excellent. Thank you everyone for giving us unforgettable days. We’ll definitely return.

The room was spacious and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, but the room had no windows—just a large door with curtains that opened onto the pool, leaving it very exposed. We were the only guests at the inn and asked to be moved to a less exposed room, but all rooms are the same and none have windows. The nightly rate was far too high for what was offered: a very plain room with no comfort or attention to detail, cement walls and floor, a bathroom without wall tiles, torn deck chairs (see photo), old stained bath towels, and no trash can in the room. During high tide the beach vanished, leaving us with nothing to do, which made it feel like the place does the bare minimum despite some guests calling it fabulous. Breakfast lasted only two hours, from 8:00‑10:00, was weak and served at the table—just one bread roll and a slice of cake for a couple, and we had to ask for more; a single French roll for two is absurd. The fruit was good, but only four cubes of Minas cheese with oregano were provided, and the cold cuts were low‑quality, tiny slices. The hotel description claimed marble flooring, yet the floor was cement. The restaurant, praised online for excellent cuisine, turned out to be very simple; the fish fritters arrived greasy and in huge pieces, and my husband’s risotto was terrible. When we tried to order a half‑shrimp, half‑rib pastel (the only menu options), we were told it wasn’t possible unless it was six of each, which made no sense for us—my husband is allergic to shrimp and I don’t eat ribs. I suggested paying only for the shrimp portion of the split order, but they were inflexible. The windowless room was right next to the pool; the photo shows how close the door is, forcing it to stay shut all the time. The common circulation area was also extremely cramped.

Stepping onto the sand right at sunrise was a treat, and the nearby restaurant meant I didn’t have to wander out at night. The hotel supplied all the tour tips we asked for, and breakfast was delicious. The cork fee for drinks on site feels steep, and sometimes the breakfast timing clashes with our sightseeing, making the day feel rushed.

The place looks beautiful and the hotel has everything it needs to be wonderful, yet it fell short in several ways: there were two flights of stairs with no staff to help with luggage, the balcony door lock was broken and wouldn’t close, and the owner simply said “that’s how it is, it doesn’t close, nothing can be done.” At checkout it was pouring rain, we asked for an umbrella and none was available, and again there was no one to carry our bags because everyone was off duty, so we had to trudge down the corridor in the rain with our suitcases.
