“Double booked”

We arrived and our room was already occupied by another couple; the grounds were littered with trash, so we chose to stay elsewhere.

“Perfect serene welcome to Sri Lanka, highly recommend”

The host Sanjay welcomed us warmly and arranged transport to his recommended restaurant Olive, which was stunning. The riverside setting was perfectly quiet, and we spotted plenty of wildlife on a boat trip from the property with an excellent local guide. Kayaks and bikes were free to use, and Sanjay suggested a sunset kayak that was amazing. He also kindly drove us to Mirissa and arranged airport pickup—he’s a knowledgeable travel consultant with plenty of advice, and he’s a lovely, kind, and friendly host. Nothing to complain about.

“Zeer teleurstellend verblijf”

The location was beautiful and quiet. The accommodation was neglected and unclean. At night there was a rat in the room and cockroaches in the bathroom. The mosquito net was full of holes. The furniture was very uncomfortable and dirty. The mini‑fridge was not clean and worked poorly. There was one chair for two people at the dirty breakfast table on the terrace. When we requested a second chair, it came from another room, leaving that guest without a chair. The pre‑ordered dinner was missing. We booked for three days but left after one night. We were offered not to pay for that night. It’s a mystery how this place gets good reviews.
