The location was great, right near Wenchang Pavilion, with plenty of nearby food options and convenient transport. The shower tap was very hard to use; if you had body wash or shampoo on your hands it was almost impossible to turn it on without help from a towel or clothing. My original room was tiny, barely enough space to put a suitcase. I heard someone else had booked a cheaper room that was actually larger, so I asked the front desk if I could switch to a bigger one. The front desk staff were very nice and swapped me into a larger room the next day, but it was on the main road and I was woken up by traffic early in the morning; otherwise the room was fine.

The common area carpet was dirty. The bath towels were paper. Finding the hotel entrance in the back courtyard next to the communal trash was very hard to locate and poorly signposted.

The location was great, a 2‑minute walk to great food options and 5 minutes from the bridge. The staff were very helpful. The corridors and rooms looked dated and could have been cleaner – our room also had a strong stale cigarette smell even with the window open.

The bed was comfortable. The central location was convenient. We used a few good facilities (gym, guest laundry, room projector). The staff helped us shorten our stay to just one night. However, this is an overpriced youth hostel pretending to be a 3‑star hotel. We booked a 4‑star hotel (with great breakfast) for our second night in Guiyang for a better price.
