“AVOID THIS HOTEL”

I couldn't find any positives—nothing worked. The luggage carts were the kind you see at airports, useless for anything but suitcases. My room was filthy, with mold in and out of the shower, hair on the shower wall, and a toilet seat that was about to fall off. The tissue box held only one sheet. The air conditioner on the roof rattled the whole room 313. Breakfast didn’t start until 7:20 even though it was supposed to be ready at 6:30, and the food was awful. I’ll never stay at a Fairfield again. The staff did apologize, but that was all.

“It is wildly over-priced. We felt ripped off! Do look elsewhere!”

Breakfast was basic, but the location was convenient because it’s near Williams College and the amazing Clark Museum. The TV remote was confusing and didn’t always work; one night I couldn’t find a game I wanted to watch. After several requests, someone at the desk said the channel number had changed but didn’t print the new number or update the guide. Finally a desk person told me to press two numbers on the remote that didn’t match anything in print, and it worked only after two in‑person visits to the front desk.

The staff were very nice, but the room was hot at 78 degrees and turning down the temperature was a hassle.

The rooms were big and the beds comfortable, and the pressure was good.
