Kalahari Farmstall

First of all, the lady or owner was very, very nice. The kitchen in the room isn’t well equipped, but she offered us to cook in her restaurant kitchen, which we used – very kind. We could use the entire property, including the bar and restaurant, as we wished. The only reason we gave seven points is that we were really looking forward to a pool, searched and booked it, but it had been inactive for months with no water. Removing that from the description would have made it a ten.

Convenient stopover after exiting Mata Mata gate, with toasted sandwiches. The place felt a bit desolate and the pool was empty.

“Good overnight facility before entering Kgalagadi”

The self‑catering setup was adequate for a short stay, though there was no stove top. Restaurant kitchen equipment was available if needed. The unit was spacious, with a separate kitchen, living room, bedroom and en suite bathroom. Air conditioners were in both the living room and bedroom. The kitchen lighting was poor, and there were quite a few stairs between the parking area and the accommodation level.

Convenient stopover just outside Mata Mata. Toasted sandwich is recommended for breakfast. The pool was empty, obviously due to drought conditions.

“Consigliatissimo”

Great location, tastefully decorated, large room with a kitchen corner. The staff were helpful and friendly. In the outdoor space of the room there is a fantastic barbecue; the staff prepared the charcoal for us and we grilled meat bought from the Farmstall. Breakfast can be had at their coffee shop. Convenient for visiting Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
