The room was all bamboo, very typical, with a view of a nearby stream. Breakfast was local, and it was only a 10‑minute walk to the center. The road was close, the room was poorly sound‑proofed and I could hear a neighbor snoring, and the shower was above the toilet.

I spent four nights at this lovely guesthouse, where the bamboo rooms were spotless and cozy. The terrace offered a view of the green forest, the birds, and a small river. The owners and staff were friendly, and breakfast was tasty. It wasn’t far from town; I walked up and back daily without issue, and the cars drove slowly. On the way up, be sure to stop at Teddu Coffee and Inn for an amazing view and walk back. Mae Kampong is a wonderful town.
