I picked the pousada because it sits in Bodoquena right along our route, making an overnight stop convenient, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive; on the downside, the town still lacks proper tourism infrastructure, it feels nothing like nearby Bonito, the price was high for what was offered, the booking process was confusing (I had to select two rooms to reserve a single double), and we ended up with three beds— the double was so soft we sank in, the single was firmer but its sheet tore in less than five minutes, the minibar worked perfectly and even chilled our water in the scorching heat but was noisy, there was no extra sheet, only a thin blanket that barely covered one person, and breakfast was very basic.

Everything was great, but the pillows could have been softer and the blanket thicker.
