Perched high on a mountainside overlooking Knysna Lagoon, the place offers breathtaking views. It sits on a 36‑hectare private estate with no other buildings, just untouched scenery and fynbos. The rooms are large, well‑furnished, and tastefully decorated. We stayed in the far‑end room, which gives a spectacular 180‑degree view of the landscape, fully enjoyed from the spacious balcony – perfect for relaxing and taking in the scenery. The beds are very comfortable, and breakfast is generous and tasty. What truly makes it special are the owners, Dirkie and Johan – among the warmest, most welcoming hosts you could meet. They’re passionate about their eco‑friendly property, where sustainability drives every choice. The house is completely self‑sufficient in water and energy, a remarkable feat that doesn’t compromise comfort or luxury. We left feeling we had made two new friends, not just stayed at a guesthouse. Nothing was lacking; everything was great.
