The location. In walking distance from the local hospital. I booked in 2 family members for three nights, ladies, as their aunt had taken ill while visiting me. They needed to be able to walk to the hospital to visit her. The photos looked like the room I booked was on its own with an on-suite bathroom. When arriving there in the evening we found it was a room within a house like set up. Dining room, kitchen and the lounge had beds in it. I asked the caretaker about the safety of the 2 ladies, and he said all is good only to find that the front door had a key stuck in it that couldn't be locked, unlocked or removed. There was a safety gate he felt was sufficient. Their room was not bad. It was clean and with a good enough on-suite bathroom, however the safety gate to their room was not properly positioned and you had to pick it up to close without a working key. The kitchen area is in serious need of an upgrade. The caretaker and we had difficulty understanding each other as his English was not that great. I did ask him to serve breakfast to the ladies on the Wednesday morning however none of it happened. They were booked to stay for 3 nights but decided to book out on Wednesday morning and there was no engagement from his side about a refund or partial refund for booking out early and no breakfast served. One positive from this is, is the fact that there weren't other guests booked at this point and the caretaker moved them on the second day to another little cottage on the property that was more acceptable for all parties

The place was a total disaster. It was filthy and had a terrible smell. I tried to check in, but the whole facility was unwelcoming. The booking service was a nightmare to deal with.

We were left stranded at the gate because the lodge was locked and no one answered the phone. It was a complete scam - they didn't even bother to check us in. We had to drive all the way back home, wasting our time and money.

This place was a mess - it was very dirty and not organized at all. It didn't even feel like a guest house. The website made it look much better than it actually was.
