“To be avoided at all costs ,a great disappointment after viewing the website photos”
When we arrived, it felt like we weren't wanted and more of a nuisance. I had booked dinner there, yet we were shouted at and told to go to Châteauneuf-le-Loire for restaurants; we had booked this place because all restaurants in the nearest town were closed on Sunday, so we ended up with nothing, even though a board in the breakfast room advertised a two‑course meal for 28 €. Our room smelled like the kind of air freshener you find in taxis. The ceiling had mold and the wallpaper was peeling, the radiators were rusty. The actual en‑suite was new and clean, but the bedroom had a shaggy carpet that’s hard to clean. The garden looked lovely in the photos on their website, with tables for dinner, but in reality it was a dump with rats running around after the chicken feed. Breakfast was served in what we thought was a storage room for garden supplies, which was what it was, along with exposed drainage/sewage pipes that looked awful. A man served the usual French breakfast then left; we didn’t see anyone after that, so we left. The photos show the drainage pipes in the breakfast room and the board advertising the nonexistent dinner.
