We loved our short stay at Odete’s. The house is gorgeous, everything is comfortable, and the location is quiet and close to Coimbra. The large terrace around the pool offers a superb view. The breakfast was excellent, and we also enjoyed chatting with Odete, who taught us a lot about Portugal. Highly recommend!

I met a friendly host who upgraded my room at no extra cost, and the bed was comfortable with a nice view. However, the bathroom was filthy: the toilet had fecal residues, the sink glasses were dirty with toothpaste, one of the tea kettles was unclean, and the pool was so dirty it couldn’t be used. The common lounge area was cluttered, and the host blocked it with a screen while she slept on the sofa.

What impressed me most was the breathtaking view of the hills and valleys from the house, the calm atmosphere, and the host’s pleasant demeanor. What disappointed me was the hard-to-reach location in a secluded village. Although it’s only a few kilometres from Vila Nova de Poiares and Coimbra, the access roads are mainly winding municipal and national roads, making travel slower, so a car is essential. Breakfast could be better, and because it’s a mountainous area, Wi‑Fi was almost always unavailable.

The room and facilities were excellent, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The owner was very friendly and always available. The location offered a magnificent view of the mountains and valleys. I would have preferred a suite‑style bathroom in my room. I had to leave the room hall, which also serves as a living room, to reach the separate bathroom. Breakfast was generally good, but the bread wasn’t fresh and some pastries were moldy. Otherwise there was a good selection of other items.

We stayed only one day, but it was fantastic; the owner Odete was impeccable, a wonderful lady who was always helpful. The only downside was that the location, though offering a stunning view, is hidden and hard to find.
