Everything was absolutely perfect: a large room, great views around the hotel, an onsen overlooking the forest, delicious food, and above all, the staff’s kindness. Thank you so much for your smiles, your kindness, your help. You pay genuine attention to your guests and it is really appreciated. Nothing was lacking.

Outside of ski season, the place was spacious and comfortable, and I lingered for a long time.

The hot springs were very comfortable! The staff were very polite and hospitable.

Convenient for visiting Appi Kogen, but the set meal only serves beef eaters; there are no alternatives for those who don’t eat beef, which shows gross disrespect and disservice to paying guests. The room is stuffy, the temperature can’t be adjusted, and you have to lug your luggage up the stairs because there is no lift.

I ended up in the Japanese Western style room instead of the one I originally selected, and that turned out to be a great change – the bed was super comfy and the room came with plenty of luxurious touches, plus I got to use the private onsen as well as the public one. The only downside was that I missed out on the Maezawa beef dinner, but that was on me because I didn’t book a meal‑inclusive plan ahead of time.
