The staff, particularly the manager, were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable.
The hotel's location is one of its strongest points - it's right on the beach

We had a wonderful stay at Avani Kalutara. The location is beautiful, the property is spacious, clean, and very well maintained, making it a relaxing place to unwind. The food was excellent, especially the Sri Lankan dishes. The crab curry served with Sri Lankan roast bread was absolutely delicious and a standout meal during our stay. I highly recommend trying it. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and very well trained, providing excellent service throughout our visit. Another highlight was the 24-hour gym, which is well equipped and convenient for guests who like to work out at any time of the day. Overall, a fantastic stay, and I would happily recommend Avani Kalutara to anyone looking for a relaxing beach resort with great hospitality and excellent local cuisine. One area for improvement is the room description . My room was marketed as having a "lagoon view," but from the room I stayed in, there wasn't really a view of the lagoon. When sitting by the window or on the balcony, the view was mainly of the lawn, with the lagoon not visible in any meaningful way. I would suggest describing these rooms more accurately so guests know what to expect. Clearer room titles or descriptions would help avoid disappointment and ensure expectations match the actual view
