“Wunderschönes Zimmer im japanischen Stil”
We stayed in a large, spotless room decorated in a Japanese style with big, comfy beds, and we especially enjoyed the private onsen on the secluded balcony. The Japanese menu served in the evening and the breakfast were exceptionally plentiful; they mainly featured fish and seafood, which for us Europeans was quite a taste challenge but something to appreciate. Everything was freshly prepared, beautifully plated, and very generous. All drinks were free, and the reception offered drinks at any time. The staff were very friendly. The walk from the station to the hotel was steep and carrying luggage made it somewhat tiring.
“Esperienza incredibile.”
Having a private onsen on your own balcony under the stars is indescribable. The dinner and breakfast are excellent. The shuttle to the station is well connected. Cleanliness is absolute. No doubt, book it!
The room was good. The traditional dinner and breakfast experience had too much fish.
“Feines Ryokan abseits des Trubels mit feiner Küche”
The Hidamari Ichinoyu felt like an authentic Japanese ryokan with all the comforts and its own small onsen. We liked the special Japanese breakfast and the fine dinner a lot. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The free shuttle bus to Hakone Yumoto station works great; the walk to Tokusawa station is very romantic. While the rooms and corridor look high‑quality, the stairwell with its spotted carpet gives a shabby impression, slightly detracting from the overall feel.
“Mittelklasse Ryokan”
A large, elegant room with a private outdoor onsen. The free shuttle bus from Hakone Yumoto is very pleasant. There is nowhere to hang the used towels to dry. The food is average for the price (mid‑range) but too plentiful.
