I was checked in at the front desk longer than any customs office, with my passport in international English and the website in Russian, and they kept asking why, where I was from, who I was with, whether my husband was really my husband, and so on. It was the first time I’d faced such a thorough check. The room was clean, but everything felt very old, water dripped in the bathroom all night, the shower was almost over the toilet and I was afraid to touch it for fear it might break. I wanted to leave as soon as possible, but I stayed because it was 11 pm, we were exhausted from the road, and the payment had already been automatically charged before check‑in.

“Ilyen kevés pénzért megfelelő.”

The price was very cheap, and at night the area was very quiet, making it easy to rest. The shower drain was an issue, the shower space was narrow, and the breakfast selection was lacking.

The location was the only decent thing about the hotel; everything else was average. No one at the property spoke English, making communication almost impossible and very inconvenient. We asked for an invoice at checkout after being told it would be provided, only to be told none existed. The worst part was that we booked a taxi through the front desk for a 7:40 am airport transfer; the car never showed up, forcing us to lug our luggage to the taxi stand and almost miss our flight – this needs fixing. The room had flies, and the hotel didn’t even have any spray to deal with insects, which was quite unpleasant.

“Calme”

The flat screen works when it’s on, the breakfast is quiet, and there’s no coffee. The cold, bad weather next door, and the price of 600 instead of 1000.
