A woman I dealt with was rude, rigid, and ignored my requests.

The price was okay, but the location felt a bit off. We had already paid and had reservations, yet it took about 12 minutes to check in while the front desk apologized. The bathroom’s automatic light was extremely bright and would always turn on when motion was detected; there was no way to turn it off or block the sensor, making nighttime bathroom use an uncomfortable, awakening experience.

We tried to check in around 3:30 and were told we couldn’t because their systems were down. Even though we showed them a fully paid booking, they said they couldn’t help. After standing on the street with our luggage, they called back and offered a room only if I paid cash. We left for another place. They haven’t issued a refund for the fully booked stay, and I was told they usually don’t.

The price point was good and fit my travel budget. When we arrived, we were locked out of the lobby/office because the front desk worker was busy eating at 1:30 a.m. in Chicago; I didn’t want to stand outside waiting. He reluctantly helped us check in. The room didn’t match the pictures: the toilet was very close to the wall, the bathroom lights had a sensor that flickered all night, the pillows were terribly uncomfortable, and the door to each unit didn’t actually lock, which made me feel a bit uneasy.
