The villa is managed by a very friendly family who were ready to help with everything; the cinnamon‑making workshop was a highlight I’d recommend. The shower had good pressure and warm water, and we were offered coffee and tea each morning at no extra cost. I’d stay there again when in Ella. The location is a 15‑minute tuk‑tuk ride from Ella centre, but we didn’t mind because it was quiet and good value for money.

The owner is very nice and calm, and he moved us to a better room. The room he showed us was severely moldy, with mold on the walls everywhere, and the bathroom was the same; the space was so small that we couldn’t avoid sleeping in the mold. I can’t understand how you can offer that to guests, as mold can make you sick. He first asked for 50 $ for the upgrade, then 35 $, and when we were confused he said 15 $ was okay. I don’t know, man.

White Villa’s hospitality is beyond words; they welcomed us with gifts of fruit and flowers from their garden. The homestay is a beautiful, relaxing place up the mountain in the forest. Supunsara Hansmal and his family gave us unforgettable memories and experiences. We learned how to make cinnamon, tea, coffee, and tried fresh fruits straight from the trees; we even planted our own tea tree. We felt part of their family and way of life, and our time there was the highlight of our holiday. Thanks again for the friends and memories we made here. xx A bin and a squidge in the bathroom would be helpful.

We were incredibly well welcomed here! This family is adorable and makes you feel at home. They constantly ensure you don’t miss anything and are full of small attentions. They also gave excellent recommendations for local sights, acting as real tourist guides. The house has real charm with its large wooden terraces that are very well decorated. The room was clean and spacious. The location is ideal – about a 10‑minute tuk‑tuk ride from Ella or an hour on foot – so you can easily enjoy all the activities while still being a bit out of the way and quiet. I can only recommend this wonderful place if you want a great time and to meet a fantastic family!

The host was friendly. He spent an entire day driving around the area with a driver and asked for nothing in return for his help. The accommodation was fine.
