It was centrally located for what we were doing, but the security guard was unfriendly and unhelpful; when we arrived he didn’t explain where the reception was or where to park.

The hotel and staff were good, but it was very noisy at night with people partying in the square from 2 am to 5 am, and the drunk people kept everyone awake.

The room was okay. The absolute lack of attention and respect. I have been to many Protea Hotel’s as this is always our preference. Never in my life have I encountered one like this. We were in a sharing room, with an inter-leading door - this was not disclosed to us. To top it, the hotel decided to place a very loud group all around us, and yes you guessed it - in the inter-leading room next to us. This group had a speaker and a party going, I ended up calling reception for a noise complaint. Needless to say, it didn’t stop. It was impossible for reception not to hear it. Then breakfast came, service was absolutely shocking and poor. Breakfast itself was shocking and poor. A buffet that we paid full price for, but ended-up having to order from the waitress and did not get the full breakfast experience. We waited long and we were the only ones in that restaurant, no staff to be seen. We managed to sit right by the manager’s office, we went to knock - not the friendliest of people or very helpful at all. Unprofessional. As a person in hospitality myself, I can understand a lot of things - but the lack of professionalism, respect, and control on this property is unacceptable in the industry. This hotel gives Protea a bad name
