Cedar House was the ideal spot for a truly special stay in Gisborne. The rooms were beautifully appointed, spacious, warm, and incredibly comfortable. The boutique vibe was amplified by thoughtful touches like complimentary snacks, refreshments, and the pleasantly surprising 3‑ply toilet paper. The historic building itself is stunning, with timber paneling, pressed‑tin ceilings, and a gorgeous mix of old and new stained glass to admire. Roger and Penny were friendly, relaxed, and welcoming, delivering excellent service that made the place feel like home. We loved every minute and would gladly recommend Cedar House to anyone seeking a special, comfortable, character‑filled place in Gisborne. The only downside was having to leave.
