Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel & Spa is set on 100 acres with an 18-hole golf course. The 4-star hotel features rooms with Italian furniture, marble baths, and flat-screen TVs. Guests enjoy scenic views, a leisure centre with an indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub, plus a spa offering facials and massages, 30 minutes from Cardiff and Brecon Beacons National Park.

The room felt dated and the bath was very small, but the bed was comfortable. The place isn’t a spa for relaxation; it’s more of a local leisure centre with no seating, noisy men everywhere, a sauna that fits only six people, and just seven recliners that locals keep covered with towels, making it a waste of time. The jacuzzi is always occupied by locals, so I won’t go back. They even call the pool a spa, but it’s just lined for outside classes and not good.

The area around the hotel was very peaceful and relaxing, and we especially liked having breakfast at the restaurant with a lovely view. We felt the breakfast could have offered a wider variety of choices for a 4‑star hotel. During our stay we noticed that the same white towels used for guests were also used by staff to wipe up water from the floor in the spa/sauna area, which felt concerning and unhygienic; separate cleaning towels should be used. The sauna and steam room were far too small for a hotel of this standard, accommodating only about four people and feeling cramped; we expected more spacious spa facilities for a 4‑star rating.
