I really liked my night in the room. I arrived by bus at the new bus station, which is just in front of the accommodation. The place was very clean and suitable for one or two people. The lady was really friendly.

I met a host who was super friendly and always ready to help; when the temperature dropped she promptly handed me an extra blanket. The place sits right within walking distance of the city center, making it a solid pick. I’d definitely suggest staying here.

I stayed at a small family‑run hotel in Saranda where the owners themselves work. The rooms are cozy, clean, and comfortable to relax in, complete with air‑conditioning, Wi‑Fi, and a private bathroom that has a great shower. Everything feels brand‑new, so you can see the recent renovation. For the price, it’s probably one of the best deals in Saranda, even though there are a few shortcomings. First, finding the hotel is tough because there are no signs or names to guide you; I had to search for the entrance and couldn’t find it myself because it’s closed in the evening. To get in and check‑in, you need to call the WhatsApp number. Second, there’s a language barrier – the older owners don’t speak English very well, so misunderstandings can be hard to resolve unless you know Albanian. Luckily, a younger staff member who speaks English was there and we sorted everything out, but you can’t always count on that. Third, payment is only accepted in cash or euros. They’ll take Lek, but at a ridiculous 1:1 rate. If you chose Lek when booking, the actual price will be much higher, so stick to the euro price and bring European cash in advance. Otherwise, it can be difficult to get a fair deal at check‑in, especially late.

The price works for me, but the hotel is hard to reach. It sits on a hill and you have to walk 1 km to get there, and the room is small, right next to the street, so the noise is a real nuisance.

The only good thing about the property was the cleanliness and the fact that the lady was kind. The rooms are extremely small, so small that you get stuck between the bed and the wall. There are no bedside tables and the two wardrobes in the room, one was locked with a padlock. A positive note is the fridge with a freezer in the room (at least we had fresh water). The location is not close to the center at all: the property is on top of a hill and it takes more than 20 minutes on foot up a steep slope. Basically, to get in and out of the property we had to rent a scooter, even though we already had a rented car. The inconvenience of the location is compounded by the fact that in Saranda it is impossible to find a parking space for a car; so the poor location cost us another 150 € for a scooter. Another absurd thing about the room was the bathroom: it lacked a shower tray and the shower head was positioned practically above the toilet, which flooded completely with every shower. Moreover, when we arrived there was a fresh roll of toilet paper with another roll of used paper wrapped over it, which was definitely unhygienic. The only positive note for those arriving in Saranda by car: in front of the property there is a free municipal parking lot (convenient for leaving the car there and picking it up at the end of the vacation). Forget about being able to walk up and down.
