The geographical and digital isolation imposed by rough living conditions was surprisingly welcome, and IRINA was super kind and supportive, the queen of chill; the food was also excellent—a true little paradise ❤️

The owner was very lovely, and we couldn't finish all the food because there was so much; the upper bungalows offered an amazing view, and we were the only guests on the island that day, feeling like Robinson Crusoe—what a wonderful stay. The dogs were a bit territorial from time to time.

The location and the excursions offered by the place were simply wonderful, with electricity and internet available and a car battery in the room making mobile charging always possible—a smart touch. Irina also set up a plastic box for soap and such to keep rats and other critters out, and the bed came with a mosquito net. Water isn’t piped; fresh spring water is provided, and the meals are basic—usually fish, vegetarian dishes, or an omelet on request—but genuinely tasty. Everything is very simple and functional for a jungle setting, not a comfort‑seeker’s spot, yet the nature is abundant. The simplicity and the fact that animals can wander into the open huts didn’t bother me, but the room itself was dirty and never cleaned; the beds smelled strongly, the mattresses were unacceptable, the mosquito nets were rotten, and the toilet hygiene was poor, with remnants from previous guests still visible on the toilet.

The family is very welcoming. The food is simple but good, and you’re immersed in nature.

Time seemed to stand still here, far removed from modern comforts – no running water, minimal electricity, no Wi‑Fi or 4G – creating a true out‑of‑time experience, with breathtaking sunsets over the private beach. Irina was wonderful, attentive, and organized great excursions; she also helped arrange ferries or speedboats for the next leg of our trip. Although the primitive nature of the site surprised us at first, we spent six fantastic days away from the world. Meals were generous, and for anyone who loves adventure and getting back to basics, I’d recommend it; if you prefer luxury resorts, you might want to look elsewhere. The only drawbacks were the limited variety in the meals over six days (breakfasts were a nice exception) and the beds being a bit uncomfortable.
