They should specify on site that no swimwear is allowed and that you must wear a bathrobe when eating in the restaurant.

The spot is right on the edge of Veluwe park, with a roomy terrace and a nice restaurant, and the room’s bathroom is well equipped. Slippers and bathrobes are supplied, and it’s a real treat to dine in them. The downside is the lack of an air conditioner; there’s only an old standalone fan, so nights in hot summer can be pretty uncomfortable—though 26 °C during the day was tolerable. Breakfast is very limited and offers no hot options, while dinner is decent but not particularly creative.

The location is stunning and steeped in history. The interior has been restored and the rooms are fantastic; the mattresses feel very comfortable to us. The wellness area features several saunas ranging from 60 to 90 °C, and throughout the day there are recommended showers, plus the food is very tasty. However, rooms can get warm at night on hot days because the large French doors lack windows or a ventilation system—perhaps our room was an exception. Breakfast has been pared down since opening, partly due to kitchen staff shortages, although they previously served sparkling water, which made it feel a bit more exclusive. There are still a few missing water taps on the property for refilling bottles; currently, you can only find them mainly in the bathrooms and a few hidden spots.
