The view is amazing, the place feels calm and the breakfast was superb, but every time I shower the whole bathroom gets wet because of the layout.

The panorama of Doi Luang Chiang Dao is fantastic, and the Thai breakfast—fried rice, a couple of eggs, and soup—was exactly what we wanted; our host delivered it on the patio beside her magnificent dragon, which is literally a dragon, and she also has a toaster and a great Nespresso machine. It was perfect for a quiet weekend escape from the city, with surprisingly soft and comfy beds that felt cozy after five years of firm mattresses in Thailand. The only hiccup was that we booked a suite with three beds but didn’t tell the host we were three people instead of two; she just asked if the third wanted breakfast for a small fee, which was fine. The bathtub wasn’t as hot as it could have been, but using the kettle to boil water solved that. I’ll definitely return.

I booked the whole place and there were only two houses, which was a good deal. The entrance was narrow, and the guide first took us to the Lamyai garden, which is understandable, but parking was limited so we had to park on the grass that was wet, which felt a bit guilty.

If you’re looking for a place with good prices, comfortable sleep, and easy access, this spot is pretty solid, but if you want mountain or misty views, you might need to choose a resort on a peak instead.
