SPARV Aulakhs Resort

The staff were very diligent and friendly, doing everything they could to improve the stay; the pool was clean, the rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, the food tasted good and the hotel’s location was extremely convenient, with roads to the sea on both sides (about a 15‑minute walk) and shops and restaurants also within 5‑10 minutes on foot. The water pressure was strong. Overall, ignoring the cleaning issues and the dirty bathroom, the hotel was decent. I gave it 7 points because of those positives and the great staff, but there were clear drawbacks: the bathroom was disgustingly dirty, the toilet filthy, and during the two weeks we never had a room cleaned even after asking – they only brought us water and towels and stopped there. Even the new towels were dirty, and when we asked for replacements the next set was even worse. Breakfast was scant, and a lizard ended up sharing the room with us, which might belong in the “what I liked” section.

While the staff was okay and the view from our room was nice, our stay was marred by several issues. Room cleaning was only done once a week, and the breakfast options were limited, with the non-Indian choices feeling a bit artificial. We also risked being served cold coffee, and the loud music from the empty restaurant in the evenings made it hard to unwind. Overall, we didn't feel particularly welcome.

I had a wonderful time at this hotel, thanks to its excellent swimming pool, which was open late into the night, allowing me to enjoy a sunset swim. The hotel's location was also perfect, with my favourite beach shack just a short walk away, and plenty of great restaurants and a supermarket nearby.

I was thoroughly impressed with the hotel's location and the pool was absolutely fantastic. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel's proximity to the beach was a definite bonus, and I loved the fact that it was just a short 15-minute walk away.
