“Enjoyable”
The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly, but the scampi and chips were not very good.

I stayed in a clean, tidy room but it came with two single beds instead of the double I wanted, and being on the top floor was a problem because I’m disabled and needed a ground‑floor room.

It was very cheap, so my expectations were low, and the rooms were tired and a bit dated but still clean and fully equipped. The beds were a bit soft but acceptable. There was a good TV, a kettle with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. The water pressure was excellent and the shower was really hot. The bathroom was again dated and needed a refresh but was very clean. The hairdryer was one of the best I’ve used in any hotel! The value for money was exceptional. Reception was great, staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Nice beers on tap and a decent selection of drinks. Food was cheap, though I didn’t eat there. I just couldn’t fault the place. The location was good too, only a 2‑minute walk to the train station and free parking. Not sure what else was around. It was brilliant for the price and I would definitely stay again. Nothing for the price paid.
