Very clean.

The breakfast was very good, with a nicely arranged platter of sausages and cheese, and we could also choose other items like meat or egg salad. There were various kinds of jam and many more options. Nothing to complain about.

The location was great and very close to the water. Our trip to the Baltic Sea was planned on short notice, and this place was the only still available and affordable option for those dates. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived we were met with an extremely unfriendly atmosphere. The owner was overtly rude. We were also charged for services (kitchen cards) that we hadn’t been informed about during booking. We were traveling with a cat. Before the trip I emailed the accommodation and explicitly asked if there would be extra charges for the pet. The reply we received was a clear “no.” When I mentioned this to the owner, he questioned my statement and responded in an extremely sarcastic and condescending manner. I want to make it clear: the issue isn’t the €10 per day for the animal—those costs are understandable and expected. The problem is how we were treated, the obvious mockery, and the snide tone. The worst part came at the end. After the owner saw our passports and our countries of origin, his “hospitality” ended with a condescending headshake and highly questionable remarks that, in our view, bordered on racism, including asking whether people from our home country even know how to recycle. Before booking, we had read several very positive reviews about the owner’s hospitality. Perhaps that hospitality really applies to German guests. For non‑German guests who live and work in Germany and lead a perfectly respectable life, I cannot recommend this place in any way.

The room was still available, and the host was friendly. There were plenty of parking spaces and ashtrays. The room, however, was far too expensive for what was offered. That’s just how summer rates on Usedom are. The furnishings were a bit dated.
