The best apartment we’ve had in Sri Lanka! You feel genuinely welcome, the owner is very friendly, the apartment is huge and very clean for such a low price. We had a bank issue, he helped us and dropped us off at our next hotel. He was so helpful and kind – thank you so much!!

Halfway between Silent Beach and Goyambokka Beach, the apartment is about a 10–12 minute walk either way. It’s close to great local restaurants and a friendly bakery, which was very convenient. The owner, Suresh, was very helpful and responsive, kindly allowing an early check‑in and even sharing his wife’s delicious coconut roti and sambal – a lovely personal touch. We rented the top‑floor apartment, which was modern, clean, and had a big TV. The place also has AC in the bedrooms, a good kitchen, a washing machine, and very good water pressure, making our stay very comfortable. The apartment is on the main road, so there’s some traffic noise, but sleeping was fine in the rear rooms with the door closed. There is no hot water, but the water pressure is excellent, and given the warm climate it wasn’t a big issue.

We booked the second floor, which has three rooms, a combined shower‑toilet, and a large kitchen in the middle. Room 1 faces the road and the traffic noise is very audible. Room 2 has windows overlooking the garden, but the view is better from Room 3. Room 3 is slightly smaller than Room 2 yet offers superior views of the garden and the residents—peacocks, birds, squirrels, lizards, and a monitor lizard—while a bathroom sits opposite it. All rooms have side‑mounted air‑conditioning and fans. Towels, a comfortable bed, and pillows are provided; on a 5‑point scale I’d give them a 4. No toiletries are supplied. The kitchen includes a fridge, a washing machine, two pots, two pans, one sharp knife, two cutting boards, two glasses, several mugs and glasses, plus plates with cutlery. The host keeps the house and garden tidy. The only major flaw that ruined the stay was that on the day of departure a taxi arrived for us, and the host, after the taxi had arrived, closed the gates so we couldn’t leave while he went to check that everything was in place. He didn’t notice a glass that was in the fridge. I felt uneasy that such a thing could happen and that people might not be trustworthy.

The owner was especially helpful and even brought medication for my ill father. The place is very clean, offers excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it. Choose the garden‑side rooms because the road can be a bit noisy early in the morning.

The entire floor consists of two bedrooms, a kitchen, a water cooler, a washing machine, and a dryer, so clothes dry quickly. There is plenty of space, the premises are spotless, and it’s quiet. The cameras are on the property, and Silent Beach is only a 5‑minute walk away. The host is very pleasant, checked us in early, allowed us to leave at any convenient time, provided a breakfast that wasn’t included in the price, and kindly drove us to the transport stop. There are no negatives; it’s the best accommodation for the trip.
