Avoid. Severe hygiene issues, deceptive photos, and total mismatch with the price We booked this property expecting high quality because the price matches modern, clean apartments in Lyon. The reality was a complete shock and disappointment. 1. Deceptive Photos & Real Condition The photos are completely misleading. They only show selective, repainted corners. In reality, the house is old and neglected, the yard is cluttered, and the interior features old, impractical wardrobes with nowhere to hang clothes. 2. Severe Hygiene Issues • Heavy Odor: A persistent, terrible smell saturated all our clothes and personal belongings by morning. • Dirty Linen: Because the bed was made upon arrival, we only discovered the dirty bed linen the next morning. • Insects: There were insects inside the room. Due to these unhygienic conditions, we completely skipped breakfast. 3. Poor Isolation & Host Dynamics The house has zero soundproofing (creaking floors, pipes, footsteps). Despite the promised quiet hours, the host was drinking with other guests late at night and talking loudly in the hallway. Verdict: You arrive late after driving up dark hill roads, in confusion, and it’s too late to leave. The 9+ rating seems driven entirely by social pressure (hosts constantly asking if everything is fine) rather than real quality. Completely overpriced for a low-standard place. Avoid

The house was beautiful and the room was great. Everything was very high quality. The pool was magnificent. The welcome was superb. Nothing negative.
